The Obligation to live a good Life

… because it’s the only life we have.

The finiteness of existence determines the behavioral imperative. „When I am, death is not. When death is, I am not.“ We may substitute ‚when‘ for ‚if‘, ‚time’for’condition‘ without changing the conclusion.

We might borrow more from Epicurus who is often misinterpreted as a philosopher who preached living a wanton life while he actually advises living a good life and defines a good life to be good to yourself and the selves of your environment (people, animals, plants, global environment). As myself is a temporary composite of atoms, these atoms „survive“me and my imagination. They have been before me and remain after me. I am responsible for the atoms of myself and the atoms with which I, i.e. ‚my atoms‘ interact.
