The Russian Federation is applying Orwell’s “1984”

Excerpt from Chapter 3 of George Orwell’s Dystopia “1984” where Winston Smith is dreaming of his mother: … „And if all others accepted the lie which the Party imposed—if all records told the same tale—then the lie passed into history and became truth. ‚Who controls the past,‘ ran the Party slogan, ‚controls the future: who controls the present controls the past.“
George Orwell’s „Who controls the past, controls the future; who controls the present, controls the past“ is closed-loop control. Completely closed.
To control the past, controlling the present is prerequisite. Absolute control becomes automatic: the loop is closed.
The autocratic power elite controls information, its production and its distribution exclusively i.e., people in autocratic states are a society that is locked in a closed-loop controlled system (Closed versus Open Society).
Facts are converted into fakes, perfectly exemplified by the widely publicized fake, believed by too many, even quoted by European parliamentarians (Die Linke, AfD in Germany): NATO and „The West“ are out to destroy Russia.
Here are some facts:
1991 Bush declared that the United States would not only remove all of its short-range, ground-launched nuclear weapons from Europe but would bring them back to the United States and destroy them. In addition, Bush promised that all nuclear weapons would be removed from American warships and attack submarines. These major reductions would be made unilaterally by the United States, without any requirement that Moscow do the same.
What did effectively happen?
In 1991, NATO forces had more than 3,000 tactical nuclear weapons.
Today NATO has about 100, all of them gravity bombs that would take many hours, if not days, to be fitted into aircraft.
Although the Kremlin promised in 1991 to make similar cuts, it never did. Today Russia has about 2,000 tactical nuclear weapons, a great many of them recently modernized and carried by cruise missiles.
The reductions in NATO’s conventional forces since the end of the Cold War have been even more dramatic. In 1990, the United States had about 5,000 tanks based in Germany. Today it has none. The last 22 American tanks were withdrawn from Germany in 2013.
The German army had more than 7,000 tanks at the end of the Cold War; today it has about 225—hardly a fearsome invading force. (Russia has already lost perhaps 10 times that number of tanks in Ukraine.). Although the Baltic States are members of NATO, Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia pose even less of a threat to Russia. Their armies don’t possess a single tank.

The tale of NATO and The West being out to destroy Russia should not be called „History politics“, bcause it is a blatant euphemism for history falsification. Call it what it is: a lie and the worst kind of propaganda.
“We” in “The West” are lucky members of an open society and have learnt that language is a powerful instrument – both ways. In the autocratic spheres of Our World language has become the instrument of manipulation. We now also have experienced how Social Media are being abused to ends which may well put an end to our “Open Society”(=democracy, free speech and the right to privacy).
